MARATHON ARTS, CRAFTS, AND QUILT SHOW

LOCATION: Marathon Community Center

Enter a quilt in this fun competition or come enjoy the talent of our local quilters and crafty ladies. The Crafty Ladies’ group and other entrants will be displaying, competing, and selling quilts and other arts and hand made crafts. Door prizes will be awarded.

Event is FREE for viewers and you get to vote on your favorite!

QUILT SHOW RULES

  • Ribbons for 1st through 3rd place will be awarded in each category. Categories are divided into hand-quilted and machine-quilted. A “Grand Champion” ribbon chosen by the judges, as well as “People’s Choice” ribbon through popular ballot by attendees will be awarded.

  • Quilts must be registered between 10:00 a.m. and no later than 12 Noon, with no exceptions, on Saturday, September 16, 2017. Quilt Show will begin at 1:00 p.m. and end at 3:30 p.m.

  • A $2.00 entry fee will be charged for each quilt entered.

  • All entries must be clean, odor-free and in good condition.

  • We ask that quilts entered in previous Marathon quilt shows not be entered again.

  • We will display as many entries as space will allow. Please note that the categories have been reduced to six this year. Please refer to “Marathon Quilt Show Categories” (below) to review the list.

  • The greatest of care will be taken to insure the safety of all quilts; however, we will not be responsible for loss, theft or damage to any entry. It is the responsibility of quilt show contestants to monitor their own entries during the show.  

  • Please do not submit any items that require special handling.

  • Quilts must REMAIN ON DISPLAY with no exceptions until 3:30 p.m. to allow the public to view the winning quilts and to photograph quilt show winners.  

QUILT SHOW CATEGORIES
Hand-quilted and Machine-quilted will be noted at registration for each category and numbered accordingly.

  1. VARIETY QUILTS (please note that this category encompasses traditional, contemporary, theme and pictorial quilts in all sizes).

  2. CHILDREN’S QUILTS (also includes baby quilts, all sizes)

  3. TIED QUILTS (any size)

  4. EMBROIDERED QUILTS (any size)

  5. WALL HANGINGS/ART QUILTS

  6. QUILT BLOCKS

If you want to display quilt tops or antique quilts, we will hang them for you, but they will not be judged.
