Flying commercially will only get you part of the way to Big Bend. However, flying in and renting a car is a convenient and enjoyable way to see Big Bend and the mountains of West Texas.

The most accessible commercial airport to Big Bend is El Paso International. It is the preferred entry airport for visitors coming from the West and also the more convenient entry point to MarfaPresidio, and the River Road.  With five major commercial airline providers, finding that perfect flight is seamless and convenient. Make sure to stop by the Visitor Information Center on your way to baggage claim for information on El Paso and Big Bend. If you landed with an empty stomach swing by Carlos & Mickeys on the ground level for a traditional Mexican meal, you might as well get your trip started off right and we promise, you won’t be disappointed! El Paso is served by American,  Delta, Frontier, United and Southwest Airlines. With over 47 daily departures and  the addition of Chicago and Denver service, El Paso is the “Fly to Big Bend” choice.  Click for driving suggestions.

The closest commercial airport to Big Bend National Park is Midland/Odessa, 160 mi. from Marathon, 200 mi. from Big Bend N.P. east entrance and 240 mi. from Park Headquarters.  As of June 1, Southwest offers six non-stops daily  to Midland from Dallas,  two from Houston, one each from Austin and Albuquerque.   American Eagle offers non-stops from Dallas. Continental offers non-stops from Houston.
