Chisos Mountains Lodge holds a special distinction in the world of national park accommodations—it is the only lodging facility located within Big Bend National Park itself. The Only In-Park Lodging
The propertys location within the Chisos Basin at approximately 5,400 feet elevation provides guests with remarkable benefits unavailable anywhere else in the park. Guests can wake to views of the iconic Window formation in the Chisos Mountains right from their rooms. They can walk to amenities and services without needing to drive, parking the car and leaving it for the duration of their stay. Numerous trailheads are accessible within minutes, including the famous Window View Trail, Emory Peak Trail, and the trail to the South Rim. Guests can experience the park during the magical hours before and after day visitors arrive and depart, enjoying quiet mornings and peaceful evenings. The higher elevation provides cooler temperatures than the desert floor below, offering respite from the intense West Texas summer heat.
