Villa Terlingua offers three uniquely styled vacation rentals within Terlingua Ghost Town, providing some of the most luxurious accommodations in southwest Texas. Once the largest residential ruin in the ghost town, these properties have been lovingly restored over 16 years into stunning homes filled with antiques, crafts, and books collected from travels around the world. Each home offers incomparable views of the Chisos Mountains, with vistas extending 70 miles into Mexico on clear days. A local guide is included with every stay, providing insider knowledge and access to unique experiences.
Three Unique Homes
The property offers three distinct vacation rentals, each with its own character. The Main House is a luxurious 8-guest home that was bought as a disheveled ruin from old mining times and meticulously rebuilt over 16 years. The Blue House is an off-grid, sustainable structure that was formerly a garage, now offering a unique opportunity to experience practical future-forward living. The Guest House stands on the site of a former goat pen and features three courtyards and gardens, providing the most private of the rentals with a cozy cabin atmosphere.
Luxury Amenities
Each home is equipped with thoughtful amenities for a comfortable stay. All homes feature full kitchens for meal preparation, comfortable beds with quality linens, and stunning mountain views from multiple rooms. EV charging is available with a NEMA 1450R, 50 amp, 220-volt vehicle charging receptacle ($40 overnight charge; bring your own adapter). The properties are filled with antiques and books from worldwide travels, creating unique atmospheres that reflect the owners passion for history and culture.
Guided Adventures
A unique feature of Villa Terlingua is the inclusion of a local guide with every stay. Guides can arrange a variety of experiences including river trips on the Rio Grande, horsepack trips through 40-million-year-old geology, and exploration of over 1,500 years of human history in the region. Additional activities include hiking, birding, botany tours, and Chihuahuan Desert exploration. These guided experiences provide access to locations and insights that independent travelers cannot easily access.
