Il y a plus à Big Bend qu'on peut voir dans une vie. Big Bend National Park est la destination principale, et avec son voisin du Big Bend State Park, il y a plus de 1,000,000 acres de vues spectaculaires, des canyons ombragées et des montagnes désertiques qu'on peut explorer par la route, rivière et sentier.

Santa Elena Canyon Santa Elena Canyon est l'un des sites les plus populaires à Big Bend National Park. Le canyon a été formé par le Rio Grande et ses escarpements sont hauts de 1500 pieds. Le sentier suit la rivière dans le canyon et offre au visiteur une vue à l'intérieur de cette formation majestueuse. On peut aussi visiter Santa Elena Canyon par radeau ou pirogue, ce qui en fait un merveilleux ajout à votre itinéraire.

Big Bend Ranch State Park Big Bend Ranch State Park est le plus grand parc d'état du Texas. Il a des uniques paysages volcaniques et des sentiers isolés pour les randonneurs et les cyclistes. Le parc offre une collection aventureuse des destinations et des curiosités dans ses 275,000 acres. Il y a beaucoup d'emplacements de camping sauvage et de routes non pavées pour explorer les hauts plateaux désertiques.

Boquillas Canyon Boquillas Canyon est situé sur la bordure est du Big Bend National Park. C'est le canyon le plus long et le plus profond dans le parc. De Pico del Carmen c'est 7,000 pieds à la rivière en dessous, ce qui rend le canyon plus profond que le Grand Canyon en Arizona. Le canyon a un sentier nature spectaculaire qui suit la rivière. On peut visiter le canyon par radeau ou pirogue, et d'habitude il faut environ 3 jours afin de faire ce voyage de 33 miles par l'eau.

Terlingua Ghost Town Terlingua est une ville minière abandonnée qui a été restaurée. Il y a beaucoup de sites touristiques y compris des restaurants, des magasins et des sentiers de randonnée. Unes des plus belles vues de West Texas peut être appréciée sous le Terlingua Porch au coucher du soleil.

Ross Maxwell Scenic Drive Cette route pittoresque comprend bon nombre de formations les plus intéressantes à Big Bend National Park. Il y a beaucoup de paysages différents, de sentiers de courte randonnée, et de vues majestueuses. La route contourne les montagnes Chisos sur leur bord de l'ouest, et descend lentement à Santa Elena Canyon sur le Rio Grande.

Chisos Mountains Communément appelés le "coeur" de Big Bend National Park, les montagnes Chisos prolongent 20 miles à travers le centre du parc. Ces montagnes comprennent certains des sommets les plus hauts du parc, y compris Emory Peak 7,835 pieds d'altitude. Les Chisos ont bien des sentiers de randonnée pour tous les niveaux de randonneur, et il y a des logements et des restaurants.

Camino del Rio Le Camino del Rio se compose de 30 miles de virages. Cette route célèbre suit le Rio Grande à travers Big Bend State Park et on y trouve une des inclinaisons plus raides au Texas. Les visiteurs peuvent apprécier une grande variété de paysages magnifiques et d'intéressantes formations naturelles.
