The Big Bend Nature Fest is scheduled for August 25 – 27, 2016, and is headquartered out of the Chisos Mountains Lodge in Big Bend National Park, Texas.  Often called ’three parks in one’, Big Bend’s variety of habitats supports more species of ants, bats, birds, butterflies, cacti, reptiles, and scorpions than any other national park in the United States.  If you (or any of your friends) would enjoy a marvelous introduction to Big Bend surrounded by stunning vistas and taught by subject matter experts, look no further! Sponsored by Forever Resorts, the event will feature field trips and lectures that highlight the park’s incredible natural diversity, including birds, butterflies, dragonflies & damselflies, desert plants, mountain wildflowers, geology, fossils, reptiles & amphibians, and night skies.  Along with evening socials that include local live music, an ice cream party, and true Texas barbecue, this event promises to educate & entertain, deep in the heart of Texas!  The cost of the Big Bend Nature Fest is $100 per person, which includes all lectures, field trips, ice cream social, and barbecue.  Participants are responsible for entrance fees to the park and their lodging & meals.  Registration for the Big Bend Nature Fest is now open at: http://www.bigbendnaturefest.com/home.html Participation and lodging is limited, so sign up early!
