Join us for the 2017 Terlingua Green Scene Festival!
The GREEN SCENE is our annual festival in the Terlingua Ghost Town in West Texas! Like-minded guests and community members come together to promote sustainability through education, demonstrations, art, and music!
This event showcases the resourcefulness and creativity of the people in our region. We present a festival which espouses methods of sustainable and independent living. We encourage people to empower themselves by raising their own food, building with materials at hand, and supporting positive local programs. Join us for a day full of information, spectacular art, live music and general good time!
Previous festivals have included demonstrations on rainwater harvesting, organic gardening, gray-water irrigation, alternative building materials, solar power, land reclamation, and so much more!
BYO Bottle
To promote zero waste, the Green Scene will provide drinking water if you provide your own bottle. This is a GREEN event, no Styrofoam please!
So for a good time and a true Terlingua experience, come to the Ghost Town this October 28, 2017. Events kick-off at the Terlingua Community Garden. The fun begins at 11AM and continues well into the starry night.
Admission to the 2017 GREEN SCENE Festival is FREE, but a suggested donation of $5 is greatly appreciated!
All proceeds from the Festival go directly to the Terlingua Community Garden, a subsidiary of the Big Bend Citizens Alliance, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. The goal for this year is $5,000 to benefit our community Recycling program. Proceeds will be used to purchase and install a glass-crushing machine to recycle glass bottles in the Terlingua-Study Butte area.
Saturday, October 28, 2017 in the Terlingua Ghostown.
