Join Big Bend Ranch State Park and partners for a special event on April 21 in recognition of International Dark Sky Week

International Dark Sky Week draws attention to the problems associated with light pollution and promotes simple solutions to mitigate it. Created in 2003 by high-school student Jennifer Barlow, International Dark Sky Week has grown to become a worldwide event.

Join us at the Barton Warnock Visitor Center at BBRSP to celebrate our recent designation as a Dark Sky Park and to learn about the effects of light pollution, the basics of dark sky-friendly lighting, how to be a good neighbor and gaze at the moon and stars at Texas’s largest Dark Sky Park
